Mr. 4 served as one of the main antagonists of the Alabasta arc. Alongside his partner, Miss Merry Christmas, he battled Usopp and Chopper in an attempt to bring them down.
Unlike the other agents who were quite capable of fending for themselves, Mr. 4 is a slow-witted individual who would have been completely helpless without his partner’s orders. He is also one of the few Numbered Agents that does not have a Devil Fruit ability.
Miss Valentine, or Mikita, was an agent associated with Mr. 5. She ate the Kiro Kiro no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that gave her the ability to alter her weight; 0 Kilos being the minimum and 10,000 Kilos the maximum.
Although she wasn’t one of the most powerful agents, Mikita wasn’t a weakling either. She was easily able to restrain Vivi, which showed how strong she was.
Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine were central antagonists during the early arcs of the Alabasta saga, namely the Whiskey Peak arc and the Little Garden arc. The duo operated in a fairly organized fashion, with Mr. 5 handling the majority of the fights while Miss Valentine occasionally provided life support.
Mr. 5 ate the Bomu Bomu no mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that granted him the ability to turn his body into a walking bomb. It’s an above average devil fruit, with a lot of untapped potential.
Unlike the pair of Mr. 5 who had most of their action before the Alabasta arc, Miss Merry Christmas was not only present during the Alabasta arc, she also played a major role.
Unlike his colleagues at Baroque Works who mostly retired after the fall of the organization, Mr.3 was sent to Impel Down and then embarked on quite an adventure alongside Buggy and Luffy.
Mr. 3’s efforts during the Marineford arc were indispensable. Without her help, freeing Ace from his chains would have been a little more difficult. Currently, Mr. 3 is a core member of Baggy’s notorious organized mercenary group,
Miss Goldenweek was Mr. 3’s partner during the little garden arc. His abilities were extremely support-focused; alone, she could easily be overpowered by multiple opponents.
Miss Goldenweek’s ability is not due to a Devil Fruit, but it is based on art and painting. Against simpletons like Luffy, she could work wonders and prove to be a real challenge.
Bon Clay is, without question, one of the realistic characters of One Piece. He did not hesitate to sacrifice himself for his friend Luffy, who had become his enemy. He did it not once, but twice! The first time was during the Alabasta arc and the second time was in Impel Down.
The reunion between Bon Clay and Luffy is desired by the entire One Piece community. His bounty of 32,000,000 berries was canceled after his imprisonment.
Miss Doublefinger was Daz Bone’s partner during the events of Alabasta. She volunteered to take down Nami, a seemingly weak individual, but was ironically defeated in the process.
Miss Doublefinger’s defeat could be mostly attributed to her overconfidence in her abilities and self-confidence, which was justified given her position. At the time of her arrest, she had a frozen bounty of 36,000,000 berries.
In terms of strength, Daz Bones was only second to Crocodile. The rest of the Baroque Works agents, including Robin, were no match for him in this regard.
Due to the nature of his Devil Fruit ability, Daz Bones gave Zoro a real race against time. It was an insurmountable mountain that Zoro had to get around to keep going, both figuratively and literally.
Prior to joining the Straw Hats, Robin served as vice president of the Baroque Works organization; her codename was Miss All Sunday. The authority she could wield was greater than the entire organization except Crocodile.
During his years in the group, Robin had a bounty of 79,000,000 berries. But today it has risen to 130,000,000 after hanging on to the Straw Hats for more than two years.
As the leader of baroque works, it is only natural that Crocodile possesses the greatest bounty. That said, an 81,000,000 berry bounty doesn’t even scratch the surface of his true abilities.
Even today, Crocodile is often criminally underrated by One Piece fandom. An act against which the Marines decided to oppose when they imprisoned him in Impel Down: level 6, the lowest institution where all the big shots are held.

Roronoa Zoro has always been a user of the famous Santoryu, also known as the Three Sword Style. Having received the Wado Ichimonji from Koshiro, Zoro still needed two more swords to complete the tricks and for that, Zoro first used two regular katanas.
During his fight against Dracule Mihawk, these two katanas ended up breaking. As the Wado Ichimonji was an O Wazamono grade saber, it was able to withstand the heavy blow that Mihawk delivered to Roronoa Zoro.
–
After losing his swords to Mihawk, Zoro had to find a quick replacement so he could pull off the famous three-sword style techniques. While the team was fighting in Arlong Park, Zoro temporarily borrowed Johnny and Yosaku’s swords.
He is seen fighting with these swords against Hachi. Although Zoro struggled against the Fishman Octopus for a short time, it was because the wound Mihawk inflicted on him was still fresh. Due to Zoro’s negligence, the wound ended up opening.
–
The Wado Ichimonji is an O Wazamono grade sword that Zoro received from Koshiro. Initially, this sword was to be passed down to Kuina, a girl from Zoro’s dojo whom he lost in 2001. Due to Kuina’s untimely death, Zoro took possession of the Wado Ichimonji instead, and thus promised himself to become the greatest swordsman in the world.
To this day, Roronoa Zoro still carries this sword, and it’s likely he will carry it until the day he manages to defeat Dracule Mihawk. During the time jump, Zoro’s control over his powers developed beautifully, and it will improve even further after the events of Wano Country.
–
One of Roronoa Zoro’s first sabers, the Yubashiri was given to him by Ipponmatsu, impressed with his bravery during One Piece’s Logue Town arc. One of the Ryo Wazamono grade swords, Yubashiri was an extremely powerful sword, although not among the thinnest in the series. When it comes to wielding it, Yubashiri seems to be quite an obedient sword, unlike some of the other swords Zoro has wielded.
Unfortunately, Yubashiri ended up being destroyed by Shu, one of the sea captains, during the Buster Call at Enies Lobby. Zoro paid homage to the sword after the events of the Thriller Bark arc and replaced it with another sword later.
–
The Sandai Kitetsu is another of Zoro’s powerful blades he picked up in Logue Town. However, unlike Yubashiri, Sandai Kitetsu is a lesser quality sword, part of the Wazamono. Compared to Yubashiri, this sword is particularly difficult to master, according to Roronoa Zoro. It’s probably because the Sandai Kitetsu is a cursed blade, from the family of cursed Kitetsu swords.
However, like any other blade, it doesn’t take long for him to assert his authority over her. So far, Zoro has wielded this sword and used its bloodthirsty abilities to slash those who stand in its way.
–
Shusui, one of the most powerful swords in the entire One Piece series, was once wielded by the famous samurai Shimotsuki Ryuma. After his death, the sword, along with Ryuma’s corpse, was stolen by Moria, who then used it to bolster his army. After confronting Roronoa Zoro, Ryuma was impressed by his bravery and ended up gifting him the saber.
The Shusui is one of 21 O Wazamono grade swords, making it extremely rare. Moreover, it is classified as a Kokuto (black blade), which makes it more powerful than a regular sword!
–
Roronoa Zoro found himself in trouble moments after the start of the Wano Country arc, where he was framed for murder. He was asked to commit suicide by committing Seppuku and was given a short blade without tanto. As expected, instead of killing himself, Zoro used this blade to slaughter everyone who stood in his way, as well as the magistrate, who was the real culprit.
Zoro’s control over this Seppuku blade was magnificent, despite being very short and unwieldy. He could even use Haki on this blade, further enhancing his powers.
–
Once again, Zoro ran out of a sword during the Land of Wano arc when Gyukimaru stole Shusui from him. As he attempted to retrieve his sword, Zoro was intercepted by a man known as Kamazo the Manslayer, later revealed to be none other than the Kid Pirates’ killer.
To finish him off, Zoro takes possession of one of his scythes and uses it to perform a purgatory Onigiri, slicing Kamazo. However, Zoro lost too much blood during the fight and ended up passing out.
–
Enma was one of the swords of the legendary samurai Kozuki Oden of Wano Country. Along with Ame no Habakiri, Oden used this sword to practice his special “Oden Nitoryu” style. After his death, his blades were passed down to his children. While Kozuki Momonosuke received Ame no Habakiri, Kozuki Hiyori received Enma, which she then passed on to Roronoa Zoro, who had just brought Shusui back to Wano Country.
Enma is an extremely powerful sword, believed to be a blade that only a few are able to wield. This sword has a habit of drawing all the Haki from its user’s body. Therefore, the blows sent by this sword are much more powerful than intended, unless controlled properly. Zoro trained to achieve perfect control of Enma and seems to have achieved it.
Also known as “Black Arm” Zephyr, he served as a Navy Admiral at one time, probably during the time of Gol D. Roger. Zephyr was very powerful and raised a generation of Marines, such as the current Admirals and Vice Admirals.
While his role in One Piece: Movie Z is non-canonical, the canonicity of the character itself is questionable. Either way, Zephyr is a monster that, in his prime, could probably take on any character in the series.
Also known as “The Resourceful General”, Sengoku served as Admiral of the Navy Fleet until the end of the war at the height of the Great Pirate Age. Before the start of this era, he was one of the Admirals of the Navy who fought countless opponents such as Shiki and even people like Roger and Whitebeard.
During the Marineford arc, Sengoku was able to take on the entire Blackbeard crew on his own and deal decent damage to them. Above all else, the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger considered him one of only two men in the Navy capable of fighting him, meaning he was truly an incredibly strong admiral in the prime of the world. age.
Ryokugyu is one of the current Navy Admirals and very little is known about him, which is why he sits so low on the list. His silhouette was revealed during One Piece’s Reverie arc and prior to that, Doflamingo made sure to mention that he is a beast of a fighter.
Ryokugyu seems to get his energy from something other than food since he hasn’t eaten in three years. Other than that, fans also know that he is a good user of Observation and Armament Haki. Ryokugyu was also involved in the clash of the navy against the commanders of the revolutionary army at Mariejois.
Also known as Navy Admiral “Fujitora”, Issho joined their ranks at some point during the two-year transition period. Just like Ryokugyu, Issho was chosen through military recruitment, all because of his great power.
Fujitora is the user of the Zushi Zushi no Mi and through this Devil Fruit he can control the powers of gravity at will. He is also a good user of Armament and Observation Haki. Issho’s full power has yet to be seen in the story.
Borsalino, also known as Admiral Kizaru, is one of the most dominant character in the One Piece world. He wields the power of the Pika Pika no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to become light himself and produce it as well.
In the Sabaody Archipelago, Kizaru managed to take out four Supernova Captains with some ease and even stood up to Silvers Rayleigh. At Marineford, Kizaru once again proved his abilities by taking on some of the strongest characters like Marco.
Kuzan is a former Navy Admiral who was known as Aokiji at the time. He was once one of the most powerful members of the navy and is now an ally of Blackbeard’s pirates. Kuzan was able to fight characters like Jozu and even Whitebeard many times during the Marineford War.
Additionally, Kuzan was able to fight Akainu on equal footing for 10 days on Punk Hazard, which shows that he is very close to the level of the man who is currently the Admiral of the Fleet.
Kuzan lost a leg in the battle, though it didn’t seem to affect him much due to his Logia body.
A former Navy Admiral, Sakazuki was known as Admiral Akainu before the wall came down. Sakazuki has faced Whitebeard in the past and survived a series of attacks during the Marineford Arc, proving that he is one of the strongest in history.
Akainu defeated Aokiji on Punk Hazard and became the Navy’s Fleet Admiral. Additionally, Sakazuki is also adamant about stopping the Yonko and the navy has become much more aggressive under his rule. He is undoubtedly one of the strongest characters in One Piece right now.
]]>With almost a thousand episodes, we have an insanely huge number of characters in the entire series and more characters are going to keep popping up as long as One Piece is still ongoing. To choose the 5 most strongest One Piece characters from that insane amount of characters can be as difficult as finding the One Piece (Ok, that was a little exaggeration ).
Everyone already knows who are the strongest pirates ! The following list will present you the Top 5 Strongest One Piece Characters and it won’t just be limited to those who are alive, it’ll be from all of the One Piece universe, regardless of the fact whether they are dead or alive or not considered canon. By this list, you will also be able to understand or recall the strength of the One Piece verse. In other words the : “One Piece Power Levels“
He deeply hurt both Luffy and Ace with a single punch regardless of the fact that Ace was a logia user and a physical attack should have just passed through him (Blackbeard’s devil fruit abilities were probably the reason he could punch even logia users) .
Even after he took some insanely powerful hits from Whitebeard and Portgas D. Ace, he was able to endure the pain. Over the course of 900+ episodes, Blackbeard has been hit by some of the strongest attacks in the One Piece universe, yet he is still alive and kicking.
« Darkness is gravity! It swallows everything around it… even light itself can’t escape!… Its power is infinite ! »
(Marshall D. Teach)
Shanks is probably the strongest One Piece character who is likable, lovable, and appreciated by everyone (Pirates, Marines & Revolutionary Army). He is the only current Yonko who is on good terms with Monkey D. Luffy and he is also one of the most powerful One Piece character. It’s reassuring to think that Luffy still has a very powerful ally who he can depend on. Remember what Shanks said to Higuma when he hurt Luffy :
« Listen up… You can pour drinks on me, you can throw food at me… You can even spit on me. I’ll just laugh that stuff off. But… Good reason or not… Nobody hurts a friend of mine. »
Shanks doesn’t seem to have any Devil Fruit as Oda told the fans. Yet he is one of the four Yonko who are known to be the strongest characters in One Piece
There isn’t much known about his physical abilities except the fact that he withstood a blow from Whitebeard with only a single-arm. The shock was so powerful that the sky split in two. Later, Eiichiro Oda indicated that the sky split in two because of Whitebeard and Shanks using their Conqueror Haki !
There are a few other moments as well who also prove his physical prowess.
He is the youngest Yonko, yet not only is he more intelligent and empathetic than them, his strength is also on par with the other three. He became a Yonko because of a reason, which is that he is very strong. He doesn’t have any Devil Fruit so where does his true strength come from ? How is he one of the strongest characters in One Piece ?
It’s because : HE HAS THE STRONGEST HAKI IN ONE PIECE RIGHT NOW !
He can use all three forms of Haki just like Edward Newgate (Whitebeard). Not only that, his Conquerer’s Haki is the strongest. Oda mentioned that Shanks could have knocked out all 100,000 fish men pirates during the Fish-Man Island arc using his Haki. Which is double the number of what Luffy did as Luffy could only immobilize 50,000. By infusing Armament Haki with his sword, he was able to block Admiral Akainu‘s magma punch which had burned some strong figures like Ace, Jinbei and even Whitebeard in the past.
By using Observation Haki, he dodged the jug that Whitebeard threw at him. He wields a sword called Gryphon and also used to have many duels against the strongest swordsman in the world : “Dracule Mihawk“.
Shanks is uber talented and one of the strongest characters in One piece who we don’t know much about as compared to the other Yonko.
Moreover, during the battle of Marineford, Shanks was in altercation against Kaido in the New World to stop him from attacking Whitebeard. From the other side of the world he managed to come to Marineford to end the war.
Let’s recall Shanks’s legendary words he said after arriving at Marineford,
« I’m here to put an end to this war »
You have to be a powerful person to stop another Yonko and convince the Marine to stop a war just by a few words. In the last episodes, Shanks was seen walking in Mary Geoise & talking head to head with the Gorosei (Five Elders). Not everyone is allowed to do that which is showing how much Shanks is important and strong.
The third strongest character in One Piece is the strongest creature in the world : “Kaido of the Beasts“.
Kaido has been captured and tortured by the marines and the other Yonko several dozens of times, they even tried to execute him but failed. At once instance, he jumped about 10,000 meters high into the air in an attempt to kill himself and when he landed back, all he got from the fall was a little headache ! The strongest physical creature Kaido is without a doubt strong enough to make it to this list of top 5 most powerful one piece characters.
He is unable to die, even if he tries himself. He may very well be the least intelligent out of the other four on this list but he has everyone beat in sheer physical strength. He is also one of the current four Yonko (All of them are considered the strongest characters in One Piece)
« People often say ‘If it’s one-on-one, Kaido will win.’ On land, sea, and air… among all living things, he is a pirate who is known as the ‘strongest creature ! »
This sentence just prove how incredible Kaido’s power is !
When it comes to physical abilities Kaido is the strongest One Piece character. He is pretty much invincible as nobody can kill him. He was only annoyed by the insane hits he got from Luffy’s Elephant Gun and even the Gear 4 which is Luffy ultimate & strongest form was only able to do next to nothing.
He once sank a total of nine ships without breaking a sweat.
On top of being one of the strongest characters in One Piece, he is quite malicious and aggressive, he seeks war and chaos. He often questions the existence of the world and life itself. He thinks that the world is too mundane.
SPOILERS : When he clashed with Big Mom, the clash was strong enough to split the cloud itself.
Now let’s get to his Devil Fruit. While there were many theories about whether or not if Kaido even has a devil fruit, it turns out he does. He had eaten a Mystical Zoan type Devil Fruit which allows him to transform into a blue scaled Dragon, a circle of flames also appear around each of his arms. By transforming into a dragon he becomes capable of flying. In other words, he becomes a true beast in every possible way.
A real aura of invincible creature emerges and fear is read on all faces including Luffy’s one who sees the monster.
In addition to that, Kaido also wields a giant metal Kanabo with spikes all over it. His special move is “Eight trigrams thunderclap”, where he charges at the enemies while swinging his Kanabo horizontally, as you can expect it, it’s SUPER EFFECTIVE !
Before his death, Edward Newgate AKA Whitebeard was the strongest One Piece character. He was the man closest to the One Piece as well as one of the Yonko who rule the New World.
Whitebeard was a man so badass that he called himself Whitebeard despite having a beard (he only had a white mustache) and nobody ever questioned him.
Now let’s get on to what makes Edward the most powerful One piece character of his time. He gained the title of the Strongest Man in the World even before Roger’s death. He was known to have the power to literally destroy the whole world. His devil fruit, the Gura Gura No Mi (Tremor Tremor Fruit) is considered as the strongest devil fruit among the paramecia class. It allows him to become a quake man who can generate quakes and tremors of an insane magnitude at will.
Fleet Admiral Sengkou acknowledged the power of his Devil Fruit and said :
« It may very well be us that meet our end here today… Because that man… HOLDS THE POWER TO DESTROY THE VERY WORLD ! »
But there’s more than just his Devil Fruit that makes him the strongest character in One Piece. He was incredibly skilled in using a blade called Murakomogiri which is one the 12 Saijo O Wazamono (Supreme Grade). In the past, he used it to defeat countless marines and well known pirates.
Furthermore, it is obvious that the strongest man in One Piece would possess Haki, and Whitebeard was one of the few who could use all three types of Haki: Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror’s Haki), Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) and last but not the least the Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki). Conqueror’s Haki alone gave him the power of a king, on top of that he could use his spirit to create an armor (Armament Haki) and could also sense the presence even if they have concealed it (Observation Haki). We can only imagine the limits of what he could do if he was actually Evil.
Becoming the Pirate King wouldn’t have been much difficult for him, even Gol D. Roger wanted to tell him the road to go Raftel but he refused. Whitebeard most precious wish was to have a family and he actually made it !
However, during the battle of Marineford, the strongest character in One Piece at that time left us. He died a death of honor.
« Even in death, his body did not fall. His figure, taking down enemies while losing half of his head, was truly monstrous. The total number of sword wounds he received in this battle was 267. He was shot by 152 bullets and was hit by 46 cannonballs. And despite all this, his proud back, over the course of his entire life as a pirate, never received a single scar from running away ! »
But before his death, after remembering a conversation he had with the Pirate King he delivered us some magical words :
« One Piece DOES EXIST ! »
The Pirate King is obviously going to be the strongest One Piece character. You can only imagine the strength of the person who was strong enough to go toe to toe with Whitebeard, as Whitebeard was considered the strongest man in the world even before Roger got executed.
Even though Roger was hailed as the strongest pirate, someone who was unstoppable in battle, there’s is still a lot less revealed information on this character. What kind of devil fruit he had or if he even had one at all is still a mystery.
To be more precise we can say that, HIS HAKI WAS THE STRONGEST ! SO STRONG THAT HE DIDN’T EVEN NEED A DEVIL FRUIT.
After this analysis, we can say that the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger is the strongest One Piece character (August 2022).

]]>What makes good shonen anime stand out ? Is it character development ? Is it the plot or is it the stunning well animated fights among some overpowered characters ?
The answer is obvious, everything contributes to the anime and becomes its strength but when we are talking about standing out then it is usually the legendary confrontations.
Let’s get into one of the most heated topics not only in the One Piece world but in the entire world of anime : « The Top 10 Best One piece fights ! »
With an almost overwhelming number of episodes, there are countless One Piece fights to choose from. There are just so many devil fruits, Haki users, and other substantial characters that possess an incredible amount of latent potential.
We have shortened the list to only propose you the Top 10 best fight scenes in One Piece.
Here are the best One Piece Fights ever !
Crocodile, the first warlord of the seas to ever defeat Monkey D. Luffy. Crocodile’s devil fruit allowed him to become sand which is basically the reason Luffy used to struggle so much against him even after many encounters.
The One Piece fight scene where Luffy lands his first ever blow on Crocodile on his smug face was something everyone wanted to see. In this One Piece fight, we see some out of the ordinary ways to hit a Logia user without using Haki.
Luffy managed to do that by putting his own blood on his fist.
But with some persistence, creativity, and desire, Luffy managed to pull it off ! He defeats the sandman.
« I don’t care who you are… I am going to surpass you. »
(Monkey D.Luffy)
The way he did that was stunningly well, at one instance he just pulled some oxygen in, made himself look like Cell “when he was about to explode” and just blew that oxygen out to fly and attack Crocodile with his new technique : GOMU GOMU NO STOOOOOOOOOOOORM !!!
The reason this fight is on this list is not only because it is one of the best One Piece fights ever but also because it was something for which fans had to wait eagerly for quite some to finally see it happening, to finally see Luffy beating the sand out of the sandman !
This fight is the best fight in One Piece when we talk about Blackbeard or Ace. It packed a lot of punch in such a short duration.
If it was any other opponent, Ace’s flames might have worked but the foe he had to deal with was Blackbeard, who has got a devil fruit even more terrifying than Whitebeard AKA the strongest man himself.
In a fierce battle between fire and darkness, who do you think will win ? The answer as obvious as is darkness. Be it the sun or darkness, there can only be one winner, whoever is stronger will always win.
It was during this One Piece fight that we saw One Piece’s ultimate villain’s emergence. The fight was so intense that even the surrounding area started to fall apart. The destruction was unlike anything the locals had ever seen, they even said that this can’t be the doing of a human.
If you didn’t get goosebumps when ace yelled : DAI ENKAI : ENTEI and when he said that he’ll make Whitebeard « The King » then you’re not a true One Piece fan !
The moment the sun made by Ace and Blackbeard’s Darkness collided it resulted in a massive impact on the island, that scene is hailed as one of the best One Piece fight scenes.
“This fight was remembered as a trigger for a major event that was about to unfold …..“
(Narrator)
To think that the swordsman of the Straw Hat crew taking on a giant Giraffe would turn out to be one of the best fights in One Piece. This One Piece fight was happening at the same time as when Luffy and Lucci were taking each other on in an epic brawl next door.
The CP9 second deadliest assassin managed to push Zoro to the edge regardless of his ridiculous looking form until he makes the terrible mistake of talking crap about Robin. It was the same for Luffy wasn’t it ?
« Nobody disrespects one of my friends » as Kaku’s mouth had crossed the line, he now had to pay for what he had just said.
The scene where Zoro uses the 9 sword style (Asura) to make his way through all of Kaku’s attacks is regarded as one of Zoro’s legendary moments. The fight didn’t take much time after Zoro had unleashed everything he had. Kaku loses and Zoro tells him that he’s got a message from Galley-La leader which states that the assassins are all fired.
After Zoro suggests Kaku to join a zoo, Kaku even hands him the key before passing out. Assassin or not, even Giraffes have a heart.
This One Piece fight ended up becoming Sanji’s ultimate & most known moment. :
“The leg of the devil… DIABLE JAMBE !… A heated up leg… hitting with high speed !“
(Vinsmoke Sanji)
We have often heard the phrase « Kick some ass » and this fight scene embodies the true meaning of that phrase. Imagine getting kicked by a leg that looks and feels like Lava and not just once, getting kicked like that again and again and again !
In order to take out the CP9 member martial arts expert Jabura whose devil fruit allows him to transform into a wolf, a bunch of heated kicks was all Sanji needed. Once Sanji gets going, he doesn’t stop, not until he had sent Jabura crashing through Enies lobby.
Throughout the kicks, all we see of Jabura is him feeling those hot kicks and his struggles to bear the enormous pain inflicted by those not so cool kicks. The awesome display of fiery footwork by Sanji makes this fight one of the best fights in One Piece.
In a sentence we can say that Sanji kicked the living daylights out of Jabura or should we say, he burnt the living daylights out of Jabura. Or perhaps both ?
This fight is the best fight in One Piece when it comes to Zoro, as it is one of the most fundamental character defining moments in the entire One piece series (There are only a few of them).
In this encounter, we witness Zoro’s struggle to somehow make himself push beyond the limits of what a normal swordsman is capable of. And that’s exactly what makes this One Piece fight Zoro’s hardest fought battle to this day. After losing so much blood and strength, Zoro was almost on the brink of death but it’s on the brink of death that he finds his answer.
By going face to face with death and himself, he achieves a very enlightened sense of the world around him and as a result, he achieves the ability to cut through steel. The fight scene where it only takes Zoro a single slash to cut his opponent down is Zoro’s most legendary moment.
When Mr.1 asked Zoro if he was planning to cut down diamonds next, he simply replied that it would be just a waste. Which made it clear, Zoro now has the strength needed to cut down whatever he wants & however he wants.
The Goro Goro No Mi, which allows the user to manipulate and transform into electricity. Just how in the world was Luffy supposed to face it’s user Enel.
Luckily, we studied back in middle school that rubber doesn’t conduct electricity and rubber is what Luffy’s made up of. Thus Luffy had a major advantage throughout this One Piece fight. Sounds simple but it wasn’t, not only could Enel become electricity but he could also travel at that speed which is about 220, 000, 000 mph. So that’s nothing to sneeze at.
The fight starts with Enel actually panicking for a change as he sees Luffy clear the sky from all the lightning he had just created. The scene where Luffy lands the first blow on Enel can also be hailed as the instance where Enel got hit for the first time ever.
Luffy eventually smashes him into the bell and ends up creating a sound that could even reach the earth from the sky. This is clearly one of the best fights in One Piece. Although, it was still a little sad to see that rubber was all it took to beat such an overpowered character like Enel. However, it also made it clear just how much though has Oda put into choosing the main character’s devil fruit.
Skypiea was one of a hell arc, all the revelations during the arc gave goosebumps to all of us ! One of the best moment is when Luffy beat Enel and ring the Golden Bell to prove that the Sky Islands do exists. What an amazing moment filled with a lot of feelings !
“LET THEM HEAR IT ! Ossan ! Can you hear it ? The City of Gold is here ! For 400 years… the City of Gold… HAS BEEN IN THE SKY !!“
(Monkey D. Luffy)
Mont Blanc Noland was right and the truth has been restored !
If it weren’t for Luffy going beyond his limits every time, this fight might have been on top. There were many shocking moments and revealations during the war at Marineford but none of them were more heartbreaking than the death of Portgas D. Ace by the hands of the Admiral Akainu.
Losing Ace left a void in Whitebeard’s heart as he deeply regarded Ace as his own son. He had nothing else on his mind than to make the Admiral pay for what he had just did.
What happens next makes this fight one of the best fights in One Piece. Whitebeard lashes out with his righteous fury as he charges straight ahead onto the admiral. Even if his body has been pushed to the limit and there are some major wounds and holes in it, Whitebeard continues to keep pushing himself which results in Akainu getting absolutely wrecked.
The scene where Whitebeard serves the admiral with a chop on the left side of his stomach was gruesome indeed, and it would’ve definitely made the Admiral realize what a terrible mistake he had done by taking Ace’s life.
From start to finish, the fight only lasted a few minutes. Yes, a few minutes is all it took to beat the living daylights out of a proud Admiral. When the strongest man in the world becomes furious, things are about to take a major shift !
Let’s get one thing clear, Doflamingo is the best villain in One Piece. It is incredible just how much has Oda developed this villain, at some instances he was even seen as someone invincible.
Doflamingo is one nasty dude with a nasty devil fruit that allows him to manipulate strings, the amount of applications his devil fruit abilities have is ridiculously enormous. He is a former warlord, the king of the underworld and someone who likes to use bloody means to get whatever he wants.
Trafalgar Law and Luffy participated together in this epic One Piece fight. The fight ends up becoming one of the best fights in One Piece. Luffy’s battle against Doflamingo is an important matter that is still being discussed among fans. Just when did Luffy get strong enough to beat Doflamingo ? Was Gear fourth all it took to defeat the best regarded villain of One Piece ?
The reason why Doflamingo is the best villain isn’t because he is one of the strongest. There is a lot more to an antagonist than raw strength. Doflamingo’s cunningness and bloodlust, as well as his unusual personality are the key components that make him the best villain in One Piece.
Of course, there was a lot more that met our eye than just the Gear 4. Like how the conqueror’s Haki of both of them collided. As well as the help Luffy got from Trafalgar Law during that fight because he could have never managed to defeat someone who commands strings that are as strong as swords by himself.
The final blow which settled the fight is one of the legendary One Piece fight scenes. The moment the World Government and Admiral Akainu heard the news of Monkey D. Luffy defeating the warlord Doflamingo was a complete shock to them, it totally catches them off guard. The news spreads like wildfire and just like that, the whole world knew of Doflamingo’s defeat.
The defeat of the king of the underworld disrupts all the deals and connections he had made with several other folks. It had a major impact on the whole world.
During a long time, this fight wore the crown of the best fight in One Piece. The ultimate Assasin Rob Lucci was the only obstacle that Luffy had to overcome in order to save the life of his friend Robin.
Lucci’s objective was to eliminate the very person who Luffy had to save and that’s what lead to this clash between two individuals having polar opposite desires.
The One Piece fight scene where Lucci smashed Luffy’s internal organs to pieces felt like Rob Lucci was the most dominant one during the fight. He had sent some insane vibrations into Luffy’s body and was absolutely certain of his victory. But Luffy had sworn not sink to the ground until he had defeated Lucci. Luffy stood again without having touched the ground and the sight of that made Lucci infuriated.
After withstanding the destruction of his internal organs, Luffy let loose a barrage of punches that pretty much took out eight of nine Lucci’s lives. This One Piece fight was an insane display of sheer will power by Luffy and that’s exactly what led to Luffy’s emerging victory in this ridiculous battle against death.
Throughout the fight, it appeared that Robin’s words « I want to live ! » were the driving force behind Luffy’s epic outrage. As Luffy was going up against Lucci, Zoro was facing Kaku at the same time.
A lot of fights like Goku vs Frieza, Naruto vs. Pain, All Might vs All for One etc… have been hailed as the greatest of all times. And when it comes to One Piece, the 21 episodes long battle between Luffy and Katakuri is the best fight in One Piece yet.
Not only was this One Piece fight drawn out just right, the mental and physical battle between a perfect individual and an aspiring pirate king is also the legendary One Piece fight scene that embodies the moment where Luffy has gone beyond his limits more so than ever before.
At their encounter, Luffy entered the battlefield as a complete and utter wreck, many fans said that there was no way for Luffy to even bare any more blows let alone actually defeat Katakuri. Well, that’s exactly what makes this fight the best One Piece fight ever as it was not fought on the basis of strength alone.
There were a lot of other merits to this fight for both Luffy and Katakuri. Before this encounter, Katakuri had always believed that Luffy was inferior to him in every way. He didn’t have much respect for him and only saw him as a threat to his family that must be eliminated. Which is to be expected as Katakuri displays strong affection to his family. So how did Luffy emerged victorious in this impossible battle against the rumored perfect individual ?
Indeed, Luffy was completely outclassed in terms of raw strength, speed, and overall battle experience. Katakuri possessed 2 highly evolved forms of Haki. Not only that but Katakuri also had Conqueror’s Haki so Luffy didn’t even have any advantage when it came to that as well as the fact that Katakuri’s devil fruit allowed him the ability to mimic all of Luffy’s stunts and perform them even better.
So was it the plot armor that made Katakuri resign the best fight in One Piece or was there more to it ? How did Luffy defeat him ?
It wasn’t because he physically overpowered Katakuri, what happened is far more impressive than simply defeating your opponent.
As All Might (Boku No Hero Academia) says :
« No matter. Whether you win or lose, you can always take something away from an experience like this. »
Luffy influenced Katakuri at a deeper emotional level which even lead to Katakuri finally starting to see Luffy as an equal and even give him some respect. This One Piece fight scene also revealed Katakuri’s true personality that had remain hidden for who knows how long. Katakuri no longer saw Luffy as an enemy or a threat to his family. He realized that there is no point in prolonging this fight any further and just like that the epic battle of 21 episodes finally ended proving that Luffy vs Katakuri is the best One Piece fight scene.
Luffy and Katakuri departed ways with enormous respect for each other !
This fight does’nt count in the list, however we found interesting to put it here since it’s Luffy’s last recent fight and one of the most important one.
Luffy vs Kaido is one of the best fights in One Piece. Fans had to remain patient for quite a while to finally see it happening. The fight was executed incredibly well in terms of animation and pacing.
During the fight, both Luffy and Kaido traded blows a couple of times with Luffy’s Elephant Gun being the initiation and Luffy’s Elephant Gatling attack overpowering Kaido. So what made fans flinch a little was the fact that Luffy was punching a Yonko too easily. How can Luffy overpower the strongest creature in the world ?
Kaido is one of the four Yonko and Luffy alone shouldn’t even stand a chance against him. Could it be that Kaido actually becomes weaker in his hybrid form or was it just the main character getting a special treatment ? Either way, it is a little too early to judge this fight. In this One Piece fight scene, it was clear that Luffy had the advantage. He was totally about to knock Kaido out of his Zoan Dragon form. However, does that label Luffy to be on the same level as Kaido ? Well the end of the fight gave us the answer.
During the fight, the stunts performed by Luffy were praiseworthy but the conclusion always comes down to how much damage it did. For all we know, Kaido might have not even received any damage from all those blows.
In the next round, he could beat Luffy to a pulp because the idea of one of the Yonko going down so easily seems a little too superficial. That’s exactly why this One Piece fight wasn’t a disappointment. We have yet to see Kaido’s part in it.
After that, we fully understand the difference between a future Yonko and a current Yonko. Is Luffy ready to be one yet ? Well, he has the support and loyalty of many comrades and he also has the gift of attracting loyal followers but he still lacks in terms of strength and charisma.
So the conclusion of this fight is going to play a major role in how long is it till Luffy can finally be hailed as a Yonko. Overall, the fight itself was done stunningly well. The animators totally did their job. The impact of Luffy’s punch, the expressions on the faces of both Luffy and Kaido were extremely well done.

]]>In the world of Shonen anime, Monkey D. Luffy is one of the only few, who are hailed as the best shonen anime protagonists for all the right reasons.
Let’s talk about him !
Unless the anime One Piece sounds alien to you, you already know about Monkey D. Luffy. He is the protagonist of the Shonen king “One Piece” !
He has but one dream and that is to find the treasure known as the “One Piece” as well as become the next Pirate King. And it is obvious from all the episodes so far that Monkey D. Luffy won’t be throwing in the towel till the day he finds the One Piece and looks at the world as its New Pirate King.
Luffy’s adventurous spirit is one of the few things that make One Piece so interesting. In addition to that, his fearless soul and the childish aura is what sets him apart. In a few words, one can say that he has the personality of a fearless child who won’t let anyone or anything stop him from doing what he wants.
According to Mihawk, Luffy has an ability that makes him unstoppable. He can recruit allies wherever he goes. Mihawk also stated that this ability of Luffy is the most dangerous in the world.
The collective combination of all of Luffy’s traits gives us a main character who is both fearless and selfless. To him, his crew matters more than his own life.
So far, Monkey D. Luffy has had quite a lot of accomplishments. Let’s take a little sneak peek at a few things out of all of his accomplishments.
These were the things that made the world government acknowledge Luffy as well as the other Straw Hat pirates.
Monkey D. Luffy vanquished the 3 biggest bounties in East Blue: Buggy, Krieg, and Arlong. He co-conspired in breaking out of the Impel Down with other escapees. During the Ennies Lobby’s arc, he defeated Rob Lucci and declared war on the world government.
Even though Doflamingo used to seem invincible back in those days, Luffy was able to overpower him and in doing so he also revealed the crimes Doflamingo committed while being under the government’s protection.
Monkey D. Luffy invaded Marineford not once but twice. The first one was during the Summit war, he pummeled all three of the World Government’s major facilities. The second time was a couple of weeks later and during this time he arrogantly rang the Ox bell 16 times in total. He also freed Ace during the Paramount war, didn’t he ?
For a guy who has created so many problems for the world government. How much do you think the bounty would be on his head ?
1.5 BILLION BERRIES !!!
It was revealed in the 879th episode. Along with this new bounty, it was also revealed that Monkey D. Luffy is now recognized as the « 5th Emperor ». While Shanks reacted positively to this news, the other 3 emperors of the sea gave an opposite reaction, they flinched a lot on this news.
Before we move on to the next segment of this post, here is an interesting fact about Monkey D. Luffy that almost everybody knows about. It’s just that they never realized it. Monkey D. Luffy is the only known pirate to escape all 3 of the top government facilities : Ennies Lobby, Impel Down and Marineford.
Now that we have laid the groundwork of this incredible character. How about we analyze Luffy transformations. They are what make the series so epic after all !
The Gear 2 is indeed Luffy first transformation (Episode 272). The place where Monkey D. Luffy first used his Gear 2 was Ennies Lobby (Episode 272)
During his fight with Blueno, Monkey D. Luffy stated his 2nd Gear as :
« I’ve thought of a way to fight with all my strength so I won’t lose to anybody! So I won’t ever have to lose anybody. You won’t be able to catch up with me anymore. All of my techniques have evolved by one step »
The science behind this transformation is, Luffy increases the size of his blood vessels. Which ultimately enables him to pump an insane amount of Oxygen.
This Oxygen endorses the physical capabilities of Luffy’s body which in turn allows him to exponentially increase his overall speed and power.
However, as they say, excess of everything is bad. Luffy Gear 2 allows him to use more of what he has but it also makes him hungrier than usual.
Not to mention, Rob Lucci predicted that excessive use of Gear 2nd will eventually decrease Luffy’s lifespan.Still, that was before the time skip. At present, the effects that were once considered harmful, no longer pose a threat to Luffy.
Luffy 2nd gear is no longer the reckless accumulation of oxygen that it used to be. If one wants to understand Luffy’s 2nd gear a little better. The best approach would be to refer to Goku’s Kaioken. Both Kaioken and Gear 2 enhance the physical capabilities of the user to a terrifying degree. When considering this fact, it would also help to take into account that Oda was deeply inspired by Dragon Ball Z, that’s why there are a lot of similarities. Still, One Piece is a lot more in depth that Dragon could have ever been.
From what we have seen so far, it is obvious that Luffy loves the idea of using the word “Jet” while naming his attacks. That’s why we have almost all of Luffy Gear 2 attacks are named like this,
And the list goes on…
So that was Luffy’s Gear 2nd. Let’s move onto the next one.
Luffy Gear 3 also made its debut at Ennies Lobby (Episode 288)
Unlike Luffy Gear 2 this one is more efficient as it doesn’t drain that much stamina. Luffy just has to blow into his thumb and he can inflate a certain part of his body. In doing so, the size of that body part substantially increases. And as everyone already knows, the bigger the size, the greater the impact !
The only apparent drawback is that he has to sacrifice agility for using the Gear 3. An increase in size of the limbs would decrease his ability to swiftly move through space. That’s why Luffy 3rd Gear is only used when sheer force is needed.
Another thing to note here is that Luffy can also transfer air in between his body parts. He can switch from one body part to another. However, during that transfer, he becomes vulnerable to enemy attacks and that can be considered a disadvantage.
But that isn’t the only disadvantage. After deactivating his 3rd gear, Luffy starts to shrink in size to the point that he is nothing more than a pipsqueak.
After the time skip, Monkey D. Luffy gained better control over this new form. He has also gained an arsenal of handful techniques that suit well with this transformation. Let’s take a look at a few of them.
As you can see these attacks have been named after elephants and guns which fits well with the whole idea of Luffy Gear 3.
Even though. Luffy 3rd Gear used to make him shrink, after the time skip he no longer shrinks by using these attacks.
Gear 4 Luffy is perhaps the coolest of them all but what episode does Luffy use Gear 4 for the very first time ? Well, you see even though it was such a legendary moment many fans forgot the exact episode number. The answer to that question is here.
Monkey D. Luffy used the Gear 4 in the 726th episode of the anime and the 786th chapter of the manga.
The way Luffy initiates Gear 4 is by first activating his Haki and biting his forearm, then he inhales a stupendously large amount of oxygen into his body but before he distributes that air inside his body, he inflates his muscular structure. Not to mention, that his legs stay the same.
Compared to the Gear 2nd and the Gear 3, Gear 4 Luffy happens to be a lot more than just a single transformation.
We can say without a doubt that Luffy’s Gear 4 form is Luffy Ultimate form and his final form too.
Luffy has categorized his Gear 4 transformation into 3 kinds of forms for the moment.
This form first appeared in the 726th episode and the 784th chapter of the manga.
As you can see, it is the first one of all three Luffy Gear 4 forms. Luffy bounce man form envelopes his upper body into Haki, his proportions get bigger, however, his legs stay the same. That’s why this one is called Gear 4 Bounce Man form, as he is no longer able to maintain his body balance on his legs he has no choice but to keep bouncing.
Despite the incredible advantages that come from this form there are still a few disadvantages, Gear 4 Luffy Bounce Man form makes the proportions of his body unstable. Which is why his landings also become unstable and in order to counter this drawback, Luffy bounces of the moment he touches the ground but that can sometimes make him lose his momentum.
The Gear 4 Bounce Man form also makes him more open to attacks from stronger opponents like Kaido of the beasts. This form of is Luffy Gear 4 form with the most striking force.
Here are some of his new techniques :
In the 806th episode of the anime, we fans realized that Luffy’s Gear 4 is not just limited to the Bounce Man form. There are more than one variants.
The title of that episode was : “The Power of a Full Stomach – New Gear Fourth Tankman ! “
As the title says, Gear 4 Luffy Tank Man is related to the unfathomable power of his stomach. Be that as it may, Luffy Tankman form is limited to the number of biscuits he consumes. After his metabolism increases, he has to leave his Tankman form. This is exactly what happened during his fight with Cracker.
The immense amount of cookies he had previously eaten burn off, and so does his form.
The first time that this form ever appeared in the anime was during the legendary encounter between Luffy and Katakuri. To be more precise, it was during the episode 870. This new form was eagerly awaited by many fans
What makes Gear 4 Luffy Snake Man stand out is the fact that Luffy doesn’t expand that much, unlike his other forms. That is the reason, Luffy gains an enormous increase in his speed and ability, just like a real snake !
Luffy Snake Man form is more about speed and agility than raw physical strength. One can say that Gear 4 Luffy definitely evolved with this form. As the importance of speed becomes significant against stronger opponents, the Snake Man form was a great step forward.
When it comes to strength, Luffy Snake Man transformation is weaker than the other two. This also makes his defense a little weaker but the speed and agility cover up for those weaknesses.
Gear 4 Luffy Snake Man form was able to go beyond Katakuri’s ability, he was faster than Katakuri’s future prediction showing that the Snake Man form is the fastest and most agile form
Here are some of his new techniques :
From what we have discussed so far, it is clear that Luffy Gear 4 is extremely strong and versatile, there are many variants that Luffy can choose from depending on the opponent.
However, since Luffy Gear 4 is extremely strong, the question that remains is :
We all know that there is a limit to how much Luffy can use his Gear 4 transformation. Once that limit is reached, he reverts back to his base form, utterly exhausted. That limit is a little different for all three of Luffy Gear 4 forms.
Tankman depends on the number of biscuits he has consumed, as well as his stamina. The other forms have their own limits. In the manga it was said that Luffy can maintain the Gear 4 for only a few minutes.
For now, Luffy doesn’t have the same amount of control like the one that he has on his Gear 2 and Gear 3. We’ll just have to wait and see where this goes in the future.
This form isn’t exactly a gear transformation but it is still something that deserves to be explained. The Nightmare Luffy form is pretty simple, in this form Luffy turns blue and his strength somehow surpasses that of a giant Oar. His speed becomes similar to that of his 2nd Gear.
So how was Luffy able to gain this form ? The Nightmare form was made possible by shadows. Indeed, while fighting Moria Luffy was able to free all of
the shadows that Moria had gathered and then contained almost 100 shadows within himself. However, during that fight, The Nightmare Luffy transformation only lasted for about 10 minutes after that the shadows returned to their original owners.
Even though, there is no obvious drawback to Nightmare Luffy transformation, except the time limit, we might never be able to see this from again, as without Moria this transformation wouldn’t have been possible in the first place.
Conclusion :

]]>A true legend in the Otaku universe, Luffy has conquered the hearts of fans thanks to his unshakable desire to become the next Pirate King. Able to swell his body and stretch it with the power of his devil fruit, he has another physical characteristic that raises many questions : his scar.
Is it a birthmark that he has always had ? Was it a battle wound he suffered during a battle or are we just talking about a scrape that he would have gotten by injuring himself ? You will have understood, the objective of the day is to answer clearly the question : how did Luffy get his scar ?
Let’s start now !
Do you know exactly how did Luffy get his scar ?
Actually, Luffy has two scars, the first one is under his eye. It was a scar that Luffy gave himself to show Shanks that he was serious about getting on board. It happened when Luffy was still just a kid.
Located just below his left eye, it is very fine and follows the curves of his eye. Two perpendicular lines cross it, reminiscent of marks left by stitches. This mark on Luffy’s face is present in the beginning of the series. It was therefore not acquired during his adventure to become the next Pirate King and dates from his past in the fishing village of Fuschia on East Blue. Like Naruto who wears cat whiskers, this is a physical peculiarity specific to our favorite hero.
The origin of this scar dates back to his childhood when Luffy wanted at all costs to join Shanks pirate crew. In order to prove his bravery and try to impress his idol, he took a knife and stuck it in his cheek. Even if the Red Hair pirates worried about him, he did not join their crew in the end. However, Monkey D. Luffy earned their respect as well as a lifelong scar under his eye.
The second scar on Luffy’s body is located at the level of his chest. Marrying a shape of a cross, it seems relatively deeper and wider than the trace he has under his eye. Besides, the scar was not present at the beginning of the adventure of the hero in the straw hat. Indeed, the origins of this brand are twofold and can be explained by two highlights in the manga.
During the Marineford arc, the death of Luffy’s brother Portgas D. Ace was so traumatic for him that he lost consciousness. Jinbei with the help of the Whitebeard pirates joined forces to try to save Luffy from Admiral Akainu.
In order to save Luffy, Jinbei took Luffy under his arm to make him leave the place. Unfortunately the two companions were caught very quickly and it was during this encounter that this chest scar appeared. Indeed, Admiral Akainu pierced Jinbei and Luffy with a magma fist, luckily much of it was taken by Jinbei.
After this attack, Luffy was severely injured by Akainu, leaving him a huge X-shaped scar on his chest.
This attack is the official version exposed in the manga to justify the scar present on the chest of the future Pirate King.
The second scar is Luffy’s chest scar. It was given to him by Zoro in a filler episode.
Having lost his memory, the Pirate Hunter finds himself confronted with the eater of the Gum Gum fruit. Being a fighter at heart, Zoro will do everything in his power to defeat him. It was finally during an overpowered and surprising attack that he took his captain by surprise. Zoro sliced Luffy’s chest and ended up giving Luffy an X shaped scar. This deep cut will cause the scars in the shape of a cross that Luffy wears on his stomach.
However this scar appeared in a non canon episode so it is not the real explanation about Monkey D. Luffy chest scar.
Now that you know perfectly the origin story behind Luffy scars, you’ll be able to answer all of the questions related to it. If someone ask you in what episode does luffy get his scar just answer him this :
Monkey D. Luffy got his eye scar at the beginning of One Piece, way before he started his journey as a pirate.
Luffy got his chest scar on Vol. 59, Chapter 578 and Episode 487 after trying to escape from Admiral Sakazuki.
Luffy got his scar under his eye by himself with the help of a knife in order to impress Shanks and his pirate crew to prove them worthy to join their crew.
Like we’ve said earlier, after losing consciousness after the death of his brother Jinbei took Luffy under his arm but they were quickly caught by the Admiral who dealed them a lifelong wound leaving on Luffy an X shaped chest scar.
Now that we know why Luffy has two scars on his body, let’s take a closer look at the meaning they can have for this hero and more broadly in the One Piece universe. Eiichiro Oda is an accomplished author who leaves nothing to chance in his work and the appearance of his characters is something he has carefully thought about and changed over the course of history.
We do think that one of the cool things that Eiichiro Oda was able to do is how he use scars as kind of a world-building motif. We’re dealing with a universe of ferocious pirates so obviously even the most meek in the world are gonna be covered in battle wounds, head to toe.
For example let’s take Luffy’s case. His scar is very interesting for two main reasons :
Another easily understood meaning is the scar in a pirate : the warrior mentality of its owner. There is a very low chance that a character working on a farm will have battle wounds, similarly for a hero who would be completely pacifist. By giving a scar under his eye to Luffy, Eiichiro Oda highlights his combative personality and his ability to survive against dangerous and strong opponents.
Know you know the origin story of the scars that Luffy has on his chest as well as on his cheek. True distinctive signs, they bear witness to important events in the life of the pirate and show his progress during his journey.
If like us you are a fan of the hero of One Piece, we have reserved for you a whole set of goodies bearing the image of the future pirate king. Discover our collection of clothes, hoodies and phone cases without further delay and immerse yourself in the world of piracy on Grand Line alongside the captain of the Straw Hat Crew who will be the next Pirate King !
]]>In One Piece (which is unsurprisingly still ongoing) there are Devil Fruits that give supernatural powers, abilities and genetic modification to characters.
In Naruto, Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia and other shonen anime, characters have supernatural powers unique to themselves. The same isn’t the case with this anime, in One Piece there are devil fruits that grant the consumer special abilities.
So, basically almost all of the One Piece characters are like powerless like Midoriya before devouring a Devil Fruit.
The following list contains the 10 most overpowered devil fruits and their users regardless of the type the fruit falls in (Zoan, Paramecia, Logia).
Here are the strongest Devil Fruits in One Piece.
Let’s jump into one of the Hottest topics regarding One Piece !
The Venom-Venom fruit (The current user “Magellan” makes his anime debut on episode 425 )
It is a deadly and troublesome fruit that falls in the paramecia category, it allows the user to create and control various forms of poison at will. The user himself is immune to all kinds of poison (He does get diarrhea by consuming them, which can be considered a weakness) The user can also cover himself up in poison, and anyone who touches him gets poisoned by default.
Magellan utilizes this power with versatility, most of the time he only needs to breath to put others in their place.
His signature technique is Hydra in which he makes a three headed dragon from poison (Liquid) and manipulates it at will. He can also transport himself by using poison. Fire seems to be the thing that has a neutralizing effect against poison.
The Op-Op fruit (The word Op here means operation). A paramecia type that enables the user to create a spherical room where he can alter the placement and orientation of the matter inside, even modify a person’s personality. To make it more clear, the user can do anything from anything he has inside the room, and thus the room becomes the user’s domain.
“As long as you’re within Law’s circle, consider yourself a patient on the operating table.”
(Smoker)
The current user Trafalgar Law makes his anime debut on episode 392.
The only visible weakness is that it’s powers are only limited to the spherical area, if the target escapes the area they are no longer affected by its powers. It was also taken into consideration that if the user of this devil fruit was a doctor, he could do any surgery or operation to save anybody’s life and do something noble instead of taking out the hearts of a 100 soldiers.
The Ope Ope No Mi was scheduled to be sold for 5,000,000,000 Berrys.
Trafalgar Law All Techniques :
The String-String fruit. A paramecia type devil fruit which allows the user to manipulate strings. The user can literally do anything he wants with the strings.
The current user is Donquixote Doflamingo who made his anime debut on episode 151.
He can make a complete clone of himself, he can fly by attaching his strings to clouds or buildings. He can control people and he was able to take control of an entire country overnight by doing that. Also by usging Haki, the strings become even more powerful if they weren’t deadly enough already. And then of course there’s the “Bird Cage“, where he uses the strings to make a cage of strings around a certain area and then compress it.
Not only the strings can be used in any possible way, they are super strong. They can easily cut through rocks and giant objects just like swords. There is no limit to what the user can do with those strings. On top of that, the strings are so thin that it is almost impossible to see them.
The Flame-Flame fruit. A logia type that allows the user to create, manipulate and transform into fire at will. The user can withstand high temperatures, and can also harness the kinetic force of physical attacks. The main offensive power is to create devastating attack that involve a lot of fire. Since, it is a Logia type. The user can transform into fire to avoid physical attacks as they would just pass through fire.
The Devil Fruit was eaten by Sabo after the previous user Ace died.
Though this fruit seems very powerful, it pales in comparison to Magu Magu no mi which allows the user to control magma. Magma can vaporize water and even icebergs in an instant but the Mera Mera No Mi lacks that kind of destructive fire power. Magma can disintegrate even substances like rock easily but fire would take a lot of time to do even a fraction of damage.
Sabo eat the Mera Mera No Mi :
The Gravity-Gravity fruit. A paramecia type that allows the user to control gravity at will. The current user Admiral Fujitora also known as Issho made his anime debut on episode 631.
Being able to manipulate gravity means that the user can create strong gravitational forces which are most of the time quite difficult to withstood by the opponents. He usually likes using his sword to create those forces.
Not only that, he can also reverse the effect of gravity to repel all attacks that come his way. His powers are limited to the area he chooses to use them in. Other than that there are no limits to what he can do with Gravity but if the user gets attacked, his powers also get disrupted.
The Rumble-Rumble fruit. This Logia type devil fruit allows the user to create, control, and transform into lightning at will. It can shock its target with any amount of voltage (Max. : 200,000,000 volts). The user can travel at the speed of lightning and can also merge himself into solid matter like gold but insulators are his weakness.
The current user Enel makes his anime debut on episode 155.
He can pass through most of the attacks by becoming lightning itself as the type is Logia. This devil fruit is similar to the Pika Pika No Mi (Light is however faster than lightning) but the speed of lightning is still 220, 000,000 mph which already makes Enel the invincible Lightning user.
Enel all attacks :
However, Luffy who’s devil fruit makes him an insulator can punch and kick Enel.
The Magma-Magma fruit. This devil fruit also falls in the category of Logia and as from its name it allows the user to create, control and manipulate magma at will. The one who currently possesses the latent abilities of this devil fruit is the actual Fleet Admiral Sakazuki also known as Admiral Akainu. He made his anime debut on episode 463.
He uses the magma by transforming his fist into magma and charging straight ahead with a punch, kind of like Endeavor from My Hero Academia but this time with Magma. The offensive power of this fruit cannot be underestimated, this fruit is probably the one with most offensive power among all devil fruits. Akainu also states how he was able to Kill Ace who has similar abilities.
Eiichiro Oda himself said that Akainu’s devil fruit possesses the strongest strike force of all the different devil fruits. As a fan, we’re very excited to discover Akainu’s strongest attack !
“ Our powers are in a relationship of superiority! ”
(Admiral Akainu)
Admiral Sakazuki All Attacks :
The Glint-Glint fruit. This Logia type fruit is the opposite of another devil fruit called the Yami Yami No Mi (Dark-Dark fruit) as it allows the user to create, control, and turn into light at will. The user can move at the speed of light which is 670,616,629 mph, (you can go around the earth 7.5 times in a single second by that speed) and he can also transport himself by using reflection (Just like light)
The current user is Borsalino (Admiral Kizaru) who made his anime debut on episode 401.
He can kick ass at the speed of light, shoot lasers and pass through attacks by becoming light itself. This fruit’s user is the fastest in the entire series even faster than the Goro Goro No Mi as there is a difference between speed of light and lightning.
Kizaru vs Marco :
Kicking or launching laser beams at the speed of light can pose immense destructible force capable of annihilating any human in an instant. On top of that he can also produce a light saber to do even more damage.
The Tremor-Tremor fruit. A Paramecia type devil fruit which allows the user to create tremors, quakes, shockwaves to disrupt any medium. He can even control the air. This devil fruit is so powerful that it can even be used to destroy the world.
“ It may very well be us that meet our end here today… Because that man… HOLDS THE POWER TO DESTROY THE WORLD !!! ”
(Fleet Admiral Sengoku)
Whitebeard Devil Fruit Showcase :
But because of it’s overwhelming power it can also be considered as the ultimate double edged sword. It can even hurt the user himself if he is not careful enough.
The Dark-Dark fruit. A Logia type devil fruit that is considered the most evil of them all, certainly befitting of an over powered villain. The current user Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) stole it from the previous 2nd fleet commander of the Whitebeard Pirates by murdering him.
It allows the user to create, control, and transform into darkness at will. He can nullify the powers of other devil fruits with darkness if they come in contact with him and he can also control the gravity. As the user himself said :
“ Darkness is gravity! It swallows everything around it… even light itself can’t escape!… Its power is infinite! ”
(Marshall D. Teach)
If this user has any weakness than that would be it can attract anything toward itself. Including the attacks from other devil fruit users which can make their attacks even more powerful. This is the Ultimate Devil Fruit as there are no limits to what darkness can do.
Blackbeard kills Thatch to steal his Devil Fruit :
On the death of Whitebeard, it’s former user. Black beard stole it’s powers and is now the strongest devil fruit user with 2 Devil Fruits in his possession.
Blackbeard becomes the first Human to obtain 2 Devil Fruits :

]]>Nightmare Luffy is a transformation that emerged when Luffy was forced into absorbing about a hundred shadows against his own will. Throughout the series, this form has only appeared once.
Indeed, it happened in the 370th episode of the One Piece anime. The name of the episode is : « A Secret Strategy to Turn the Tables – Nightmare Luffy Appears »
As for the One Piece manga, it happened in the 479th chapter (Vol. 49).
As Luffy was rushing to the battlefield, he was tripped by a pirate or rather a pirate crew called the « Rolling Pirates ».
Their goal was also the same as Luffy, they wanted to get their shadows back. To do that they did something unconventional, it gave them the edge they needed to take down Gecko Moria…
But before we get to what happened in that episode let’s talk a little about the Warlord Gecko Moria and his devil fruit.
This guy used to be one of the Seven Warlords of the sea. He currently resides on the largest ship in the world « Thriller Bark »
When he was young, his crew called “The Gecko Pirates” came face to face with Kaido of the beasts. This encounter with a Yonko ended in a disgraceful defeat. Moria lost almost all of his crew. Later, he rose again with a new crew named the “Thriller Bark Pirates”.
Even though he used to be one of the seven warlords of the sea. He was stripped off of this title during the great war of Marineford. The one who brought this upon him was another warlord, Doflamingo. However Moria managed to escape from him. It is only 427 episodes later that we see Gecko Moria who came to pick up his faithful companion Absalom on the island of Blackbeard called Hachinosu also known as Pirate Island.
As for his devil fruit, it is a paramecia type called the Kage Kage no Mi. It gives the user the freedom to manifest and control shadows of living creatures, including their own. In a way, the user becomes « The Ruler of Shadows ».
During the Thriller Bark arc, the pirates who had been victims of Moria’s shadow controlling abilities saw hope in Luffy. Over the years they had realized that they can inject shadows in themselves to attain the abilities of that specific shadow. Thus, they used Moria’s devil fruit against him.
They injected the shadow of a swordsman into Luffy and suddenly Luffy was a master swordsman, even though he knew nothing about the art of swordsman ship at all. Seeing that their experiment worked. They induced about a 100 shadows in Luffy and just like that, Luffy turns into nightmare Luffy. The only drawback to this form was the time limit, the abilities would last for only about 10 minutes.
However, for Luffy’s nightmare mode, this was plenty.
In Nightmare Luffy transformation, Luffy grew several times larger than his normal self and his skin also turnes blue, making him look like a Zombie.
We did an article on how tall is Nightmare Luffy, you can check it right here.
So now that Luffy had the necessary strength he needed to face Moria, he enters the battlefield and immediately saves both Usopp and Nami from the ridiculous stomping of Oz, both of them were about to be stopped over by that demon. Oz was ridiculously large in size (67 meters) and possessed Luffy’s abilities.
So if we look at the situation rationally, Oz was certainly not a good opponent for Luffy, was he ?
But Voila !!!
Nightmare Luffy had more than enough strength to beat his own shadow out of Oz. He starts by blocking Oz’s gigantic punch with his single hand and then punches him straight on his chin. The impact of Luffy’s punch makes Oz fall over his head and bewilders Moria, who was piloting Oz from inside his stomach.
As Nightmare Luffy presented this awful display of raw strength. Nami and Usopp, as well as the Zombies, who were watching from the sidelines, were all completely blown away by Luffy’s inhumane strength. The noticeable techniques that Luffy used in his Nightmare form were Gomu Gomu no Pistol and Gomu Gomu no Storm.
Meanwhile, Moria who happened to be inside Oz’s stomach was getting just as dizzy as Oz. At this point the narration endorsed the moment by saying :
« How the legendary man who was called a Demon 500 years ago is getting beaten so easily ? »
With only three minutes to spare, the Luffy vs Oz battle enters its final phase. Luffy uses Gomu Gomu no Storm and hits Oz with a stupendous amount of random consecutive punches. This barrage results in Oz becoming unable to fight and Luffy, shrinking in size. It seems to be one of the side effects of the Nightmare Luffy form.
When all of the shadows left Luffy’s body, his size decreased a little more than what it should have. He shrank just enough to be about the same size as that of an elementary school kid . Now that Oz had been defeated. What happened next was something that should’ve been obvious from the very beginning. Moria didn’t give up at all, in fact, he swore to claim everybody’s shadow and then go after the title of Pirate King with his army of undead.
In that moment, he used some technique called Shadows’ Asgard ! He extracted about a 1000 shadows and injected them into his own body, these shadows also included that of Luffy himself. Suddenly, he became exponentially bigger than his normal size. Even bigger than Oz. But Luffy had already had enough of this nonsense, he uses his Gear 2nd and third at the same time !!!
Gecko Moria Shadow’s Asgard
Luffy charges ahead using Giganto Jet Sheel ! The impact becomes too much to handle, even for Moria. And just like that all of the shadows came out of Moria’s body and returned to their owners.
Nightmare Luffy Gear 4 has been a center of attention for One Piece fans, ever since gear 4th was revealed. Some resources also say that Gear 4th Bounce Man was created because fans wanted Nightmare Luffy to come back so Oda gave them something different. Which isn’t the case, I mean come on, is it really that simple to sway Oda ?
We know that Nightmare Luffy is a form that can only take place under certain conditions. If those conditions were to be met again and Luffy still lacked the innate strength to beat that specific opponent, there’s no doubt about it, Luffy would have to go further beyond and that premonition alone makes it apparent, Gear 4 Nightmare Luffy isn’t impossible.
Why ?
Let’s take another look at everything we’ve discussed so far. For Gear fourth Nightmare Luffy to be born, there are a few fundamental components that need to come together. These components include :
Now who could that opponent be ? Your guess is as good as mine. We already know that if there is one person that Moria hates more than anything else in the world than that person is the world’s strongest beast « Kaido ».
So, it is possible that at some point in the story, all three of these individuals come together. Moria decides to use Luffy to take down Kaido and in order to do that, he might make it possible for Nightmare Gear 4 Luffy to be born. Given what Kaido did to Moria in the past, Moria would also take whatever opportunity he can get to take Kaido down.
Well, rationally speaking. I don’t think if even Gear 4 Nightmare Luffy would be able to take Kaido down, it’s because Kaido is basically immortal. We have seen him do insane things and still come out of them unscathed. Sure Luffy Nightmare Gear 4 is nothing to brag about. It would certainly be able to give Kaido a run for his money but we are forgetting a very importing thing here, there is also going to be a time limit and if Luffy uses gear 4th together with the Nightmare form, then the time limit might decrease even further.
Luffy can quite possibly give major injuries to Kaido but would that be enough to defeat him ? Even if Luffy becomes the strongest character in this Gear 4th Nightmare form, there would still be a major drawback. He would never be able to finish off an entity such as Kaido in a few minutes. Be that as it may, there is an incredible fan made video about Nightmare Luffy Gear 4 vs. Kaido.
The video’s gotten more than 30 millions views ! So there is a chance that even Oda might’ve seen the video. Just saying !
Kudos to the folks who made that video, they did an extraordinary job indeed.
Make sure to subscribe to their Youtube Channel !
However, in the end, it’s up to Oda to decide what he wants to do next. It’s his series after all, the possibility isn’t zero. In fact, there’s a high chance that Nightmare Luffy Gear 4th makes its debut. Oda just needs to connect the dots, what if he has been doing all this groundwork just to make Gear 4 Nightmare Luffy possible ?
Or what if he is planning to show us an even more spectacular form ? Something better than anything we have seen before…
